Wintery Goodness: Boots

There are a lot of choices out there when it comes to winter boots. In many cases, they are styled for the current fashion season, and won’t be worth wearing next year. Chances are they’re also shoddily constructed, leaving you with boots that fall apart on you long before they should.
I am a proud owner of a pair of Sorel boots. They are dark green with a retro-reflective printed motif from the ankle up and black rubber around the foot. They have a removable lining that is a sandwich of wool felt and a flexible metallic material akin to survival space blankets. They are so warm that they’re almost too warm for Maryland winters. They slip right on and have cross-lacing with a cincher at the top – so no tying bows for me! I’ve had this same pair of boots for over 10 years now, and they still look very nice.
Their website even includes a search form to find local retailers that carry Sorel boots, and you can even limit the results to a particular style.
