If you have kids (or at the least, young nieces or nephews), you probably know who Flat Stanley is. Well, Flat Stanley isn’t the only pal of ours to trot the globe. Flickr has a group dedicated to Traveling Toys. Next time you decide to play tourist, bring along a toy that is loved by someone you love, and bring back a great souvenir. Then submit it to the Traveling Toys group on Flickr.

If you have to say you are, you aren’t.

I noticed that there’s lots of drama going on in LJ land today. I hope everything turns out OK.

You’ve heard of getting a phone call from a wakeup service. This is an entirely different kind of wakeup call. And yet, I know many of you are familiar with it.

New House
Originally uploaded by Cordelya
I stopped by the house today and discovered a big hole in the ground. The included photo is taken from the back right corner (as if you were looking at it from the street). In the upper left of the photo is the shallower footings for the front porch. There are also two large piles of dirt, one in front of where the house will be, and one right behind it. Click the picture or caption to look at it in detail and see all of the other pictures (I have 10 so far).
Notice the nice red clay in the lower half of the hole walls. That’s why the ground doesn’t percolate – why we had to fight with the County Health Department over square footage and holding tanks.

Pumpkin Fudge can be ordered from the Van Otis Chocolates web site. It is a seasonal item, so don’t wait too long! If you didn’t get to try any on Saturday, be assured, this stuff makes people go all melty.

Now that the 2007 MDRF season is over, I’m writing my usual post soliciting for photos. I spend some amount of time taking photos of folks and posting them up on my Flickr account. What I don’t get too many of are photos of myself, which I am constantly asked for by my family and friends who don’t go to Faire. If you have a photo of me from this year, would you kindly post a link to it in the comments, or email it to jacqueline at cordelya dot net. Photos of Dirk Sharpe would be lovely, too.
