I hate Comcast. I hate them almost as much as I hate Verizon. Here’s why:
I had an appointment with Comcast, for installation of new cable and internet service. The appointment was for this afternoon, between 4 and 7, at my new house, which isn’t finished yet. I arrived about 10 minutes before 4, and stayed until about 5 minutes after 7. The house does not yet have a source of electricity, as BG&E decided that the weather on Friday did not permit installation. Did the Comcast technician make an appearance? No. I spent 3 hours in an unheated (40F) house, and for what? Not a damn thing.
That, ladies and gentlemen, is why I hate Comcast today.

I will be over at the new house today and Monday for specific periods of time. If you’re in the area during either of those times, please feel free to stop by, and you can have a sneak-peek at the house!
Saturday: 4pm to 7pm (I’m waiting for Comcast)
Monday: 8am to 5pm (I’m waiting for Verizon)
Not to worry, I will have a space heater running to keep me warm, a camp chair to rest in, and some electronic gadgets to keep me entertained.
I might also do some work in my garden, but don’t hold your breath on that one!
If you’re going to stop by, it would be wise of you to give me a shout before you do so I know to expect you. See the post How to Contact Cordelya for details. Since I’ll be on mobile phone only, the contact options that will work are: email, Jott, GrandCentral, GTalk, or the Web Form.
Nosh and seating are BYO.
Bring waterproof shoes or ones you don’t care about. You *can* get into the house without getting too muddy, but if you want to walk around outside, you’ll need mud-friendly shoes!

This is mostly for my reference, so I’m going to hide the bulk of this post behind a cut to avoid boring you with the details. Unless, of course, you like that sort of thing, in which case, please do click the link for the full post! Read more »

House

Here is an up-to-date photo of the house, taken yesterday. Also, I didn’t mention yesterday, but the ducts are in, as is the furnace and anti-allergy UV widget that helps clean the air. I tell ya, between the wood floor and the air filtration, this house is going to be a haven for allergy sufferers… right up until the point when we get a dog
